Ching Ming

Yes, its the annual trek out to the cemeteries for "Ching Ming" (don't ask me what it means).
Again we chose the last day of the last weekend to go. It seems a lot of other people think the same way we do.

Back at the house, something to do with cellphones.

weekend's at great-grandparents

weekends with great-grandma

who's tickling who?

It's Spring!

These are all from the same Asian Pear tree.

I did hack it back a bit this past winter.

And Yes, there are bees, so I guess we're not completely doomed yet.

Yah...Minnesota

Melissa took care of Dr. Miller's family pets while they went on vacation.

Ice skating with friends. A Minnesota favorite!

Dr.Karen, a UCLA dental graduate and former classmate of Melissa and Josh's comes to Minneapolis for a quick visit. Melissa and Josh take her to Chino/Latio's restaurant. One of their favorites!

Here are the rest of my birds

Vultures. You'll find them anywhere there is fresh kill.

Don't have to tell you what these are.

Male Ostrich in the wild

Alan with a female Ostrich at a game preserve shelter. I'm not sure why this particular ostrich was here.

Ostrich pose
Don't remember what these ugly birds are called. They stand about four feet high.

Hippos laying around during the day. They love to hang around in groups to sleep. They don't even mind sleeping in their own excrement. You always knew when there were a bunch of hippos around, the smell was awful.

Birds?

Here are some birds we photographed in Tanzania back in 2001.
Don't bother asking me what kind of birds these are. I have no idea what they're called.

This guy tried to take off one of my fingers.

We were having lunch on the deck and just like it is here in the U. S., where there's food, there are birds. This particular guy was pretty daring. He landed right on the plate and proceeded to help himself.
