Chinese New Year Parade

Well, we were going to attend the Chinese New Year Parade last night, and perhaps get some pictures to post here, but it rained. That in itself shouldn't have been enough to stop us but it wasn't just regular rain. It was blowing wind, and "sheets of rain". That stopped us.
We did watch a bit of it on television; all those little troopers stripping off their heavy weather gear just before they marched in front of the cameras. In any case, I hope everyone escaped from getting a cold or the flu.
(Speaking of the flu, we're being told that it's going to be a bad "flu season" this year. Even if you received your flu shot this season, it will only protect you from around 40% of the flu viruses out there, so keep washing your hands and keep them away from your eyes or nose.)

The Chinese New Year Parade marks the end of the New Years celebration. Let's hope for better weather next year, if only for the sake of the kids in the parade.
